About Judy Crabtree
Judy’s extensive travel throughout South East Asia made her appreciate the simple life. Less is more is the mantra she lives by now. She is a homemaker in the old fashioned sense, preparing 3 meals everyday for her family of 5. The extensive sports activities and busy school schedules cause stress and anxiety in many families. It’s easy to get caught up with what’s going on around you, but taking a step back and prioritizing what is truly important will make everyday more meaningful. Judy is motivated to inspire people towards a more down-to-earth lifestyle, making the most of every moment. “Sure my house gets trashed, but after I bathe my children, and put everyone to bed, I decompress and refresh myself for the next day.”
Judy received a BA from the University of Michigan and earned an MBA from Fordham University Business School. Her background is in advertising sales and sales planning, where she met Amanda. Judy has always been compelled to go back to work to help support the financial burden of her family and has felt torn between the demands of her family and the need to work outside the home.
An important ritual in Judy’s life is exercise. Taking care of yourself, makes you, your children and all the people around you happier. Family trips to the Berkshires and long walks with her Golden Retriever help to keep Judy’s life balanced and joyful.
About Amanda Hill
Amanda recognized her love for efficiency and organization early on. In high school she managed a Benetton store and excelled as a star folder. When asked how her organizing began, Amanda recalls cleaning out her third grade art teacher’s closet, “While everyone else was working on their assignment, I was sorting art supplies, and having a great time.”
Amanda met Judy while working at Lifetime Television in Advertising Sales/Pricing and Planning. She received a BA in Communications from SUNY at Buffalo and an MBA from New York University. Aiming to help companies work more efficiently, she began working at Arthur Andersen in Business Consulting. Amanda then joined ABC Television in their New Business Development Department, creating opportunities for new advertisers.
In 1999, Amanda became a stay-at-home mom. She is an involved member in her community; working for a number of important causes. Amanda helped a close friend re-organize her newly renovated kitchen, “I emptied every cabinet, drawer and pantry and turned it into an efficient, organized workspace. My friend’s neighbor asked, “Does Amanda do playrooms?” “Of course we do!” they say, and So Simply Organized was born. “Life is too short;” says Amanda “being organized gives you more time, space, and energy.”
